STS Foundation is based in Scottsdale, Arizona, and has regional and state offices across the United States. STS Foundation was established in 1986. STSF sponsors an international exchange program for high school students, on a non-immigrant J-1 visa, between the ages of 15-18. This gives the students an opportunity to live with an American family for an academic year or semester while attending the local high school.
Only students who show academic interest and achievement, good character, adaptability and a satisfactory command of the English language are accepted. During the 2005-2006 school, STSF will welcome students from Australia, Austria, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Korea, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and Thailand.
The STSF Area Representatives are the links that support the network. Each Representative works closely with their Regional Coordinator to whom he or she may turn to for advice or information. The STSF National Office also provides 24-hour coverage for emergency situations. Representatives maintain contact with the student, host family and school throughout the exchange year. STS Foundation seeks to work within guidelines set forth by the Council of Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET) and to comply with the regulations on Exchange Visitor Programs under the guidance of the US Department of State (USIA).
STS Foundation also offers a high school year or semester abroad program for qualified American students between the ages of 15 - 18. American students have the opportunity to study in countries throughout Europe, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
