STS Foundation student testimonials

The STS Foundation student is the center focus of our mission to foster a program of reciprocal learning. Every day as we share in each new discovery a student embraces, we experience it with them. The care and attention provided by our staff allows every student to reach their full potential.

“My experience has put me through emotions that I have never felt before and made me really sit down and think about how I'm going to deal and feel for things. My experience has helped me grow and mature into a better person. I have seen and been places that I would not have the opportunity to enjoy in my home country with my exchange family and with the foundation.

The experience is definitely worth it. It has been a roller coaster for me personally but you always have a mentor or someone to call if you need anything and they are willing to strategize and put a different prospective on the situation. I have made so many friends and met so many people that are different to me but it gives you a different feel for life.

I wouldn't change my experience for anything it really has been an opportunity of a life time and my family hear has taken me in if I was their own. All you have to do is be open. And you will have a great time”

“Dear future exchange students...
Every one of you have no idea on what a journey you all are about to experience. Being a foreign exchange student is the most fun, most exciting and last, it's the most powerful thing when it comes to feelings and love.

Being a foreign exchange student is by far the greatest adventure I have ever done. I have learned so much, not only about the American culture, but about myself, my future and my dreams. I have learned how to treat others, that people are equal wherever you are from, and lastly, that people smile in the same language.

I have seen so many things and experienced so much that I didn't even know existed. The hardest part for me has been the culture differences. How boys and girls aren't equal, how you cannot have a teenager of the opposite sex in your room without the door open, how hard it is for boys and girls to hangout. Etc. Here is just some of many differences in equality and humanity.

America does offer great schooling, great nature and amazing people. If you decide to go on an exchange year, I strongly suggest to come to the States. It does not matter what kind of climate you are looking for because I'm 90% sure you can find it here.

If you are even thinking about going on exchange, that's when you know you are ready to go. Don't procrastinate, don't stay home for a boy or for friends etc. If they are real boyfriends/friends, they will stick around. So travel the world, go on exchange and live your life!”
